Technically yes on legacy products not subject to RoHS, but for modern electronics a certified lead-free alloy like SAC305 or Sn100C is mandatory. 50/50 is NOT suitable for PCBs, SMD or any electronic equipment placed on the EU market.

Can I use standard 50/50 on lead-acid battery posts?

NO. Lead-acid batteries require purity-controlled alloys with strict limits on gas-generating impurities (Ni, Te, Co, Fe, Mn < 1-5 ppm). Standard 50/50 is not formulated to these specifications and causes gassing, self-discharge and reduced battery life.
