Starlock
Innovative mechanical fastening systems for industrial applications with permanent hold.
STARLOCK® fastening systems represent an innovative and reliable solution for fastening mechanical components on pins. Based on a unique operating principle, they guarantee exceptional hold with simplicity of assembly and controlled removal. The STARLOCK® system uses self-locking elastic washers that deform during assembly, creating a mechanical locking effect. The pressure applied during insertion activates the fastening mechanism, guaranteeing permanent and reliable hold. Assembly requires only simple pressure, eliminating the need for special tools or complex operations. Removal is only possible by destroying the component, guaranteeing safety and prevention of accidental tampering. Washers are available in burnished steel, stainless steel (for some sizes) and galvanized. Caps can be made in stainless steel (S), aluminum (K), galvanized burnished steel (A) or nylon (N), offering solutions for every application need. Ideal for fastenings in automotive, appliances, industrial machinery and applications where permanent hold and vibration resistance are required. Particularly suitable for steel, ferrous or plastic pins. Each STARLOCK® component is produced according to rigorous quality standards, with dimensional and functional controls on each batch. Compliance with international regulations guarantees consistent and reliable performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about Starlock washers
Starlock washers have star teeth that penetrate the material creating permanent mechanical locking. Advantages: vibration resistance 10x higher, reduced tightening torque (-30%), faster installation without adhesives. Ideal for automotive, railway, aerospace where vibrations are critical. DIN 6798 standard for international compatibility.
No, they are not designed for reuse. During tightening, the teeth deform plastically adapting to the material. Removing and reinstalling reduces locking effectiveness by 60-80%. For maintenance/repairs, always use new Starlock washers. Low cost (vs locking compounds) makes them economical even for temporary applications.
They work on all metals with hardness HRC <40: mild steel, aluminum, brass, austenitic stainless steel. DO NOT use on: brittle materials (cast iron, ceramics), too hard materials (hardened steels >HRC 45), plastics (teeth create cracks). For high-strength steels, reinforced Starlock washers in hardened spring steel are available.
General rule: 70-80% of standard torque for the screw used. Ex: M6 screw (std torque 10 Nm) → with Starlock 7-8 Nm. Teeth penetrate at low torque providing immediate locking. Excessive tightening can damage teeth reducing effectiveness. Use torque wrenches for critical applications (aerospace, medical).
Yes, our Starlock washers are 100% RoHS compliant (zero lead, cadmium, hexavalent chromium). Material: galvanized carbon steel (white or yellow) according to ISO 2081, or A2/A4 stainless steel for corrosive environments. Certificates of conformity available for each batch. Also REACH compliant for EU applications.
